How to disable the Gener8 extension on websites if they're not working

Written by Katie

Sometimes, you might run into a website that doesn't load, has broken buttons, or looks a bit messy.

Why does this happen?

To put it simply: some websites just don’t like ad blockers!

Because Gener8 blocks intrusive trackers and ads to protect your privacy, it can occasionally stop certain parts of a website (like videos, login forms, or checkout buttons) from loading properly.

If you trust the website, you can easily turn off blocking just for that specific site.

💻 How to Disable Blocking for a Specific Website

  1. Open the Website: Navigate to the page that is not loading or displaying correctly.

  2. Open the Gener8 Extension: Click on the Gener8 icon (the teal circle logo) in the top-right corner of your browser toolbar.

  3. Disable Blocking: In the dropdown menu that appears, look for the text "Page not loading?" at the bottom and click on the link next to it: 👉 Disable blocking for this site

  4. Reload the Page: A small browser prompt may appear asking you to apply your updated settings. Click Reload (or manually refresh the page) to apply the changes.

Once refreshed, the site will load with Gener8's blocking disabled for that domain, allowing the page to function normally.

🔄 How to Re-enable Blocking Later

If you want to turn the privacy and blocking features back on for the website later:

  1. Click the Gener8 extension icon in the top-right corner while on that website.

  2. Click Enable blocking for this site.

  3. Refresh the page to restore your privacy and rewards protection.

💡 Using the Gener8 Browser? The steps are exactly the same! Since the Gener8 Browser has these features built directly into its core, simply click the Gener8 icon next to your URL bar and select "Disable blocking for this site".
